Apprentice Customer Services Assistant Level 2


wage: £258.52

working week: Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm

Total hours per week: 35.00

Key Responsibilities:

As a member of the Customer Services Team to provide a quality and friendly "one stop" service to all Loughborough EMB customers and visitors

To provide a friendly, helpful and polite reception and telephone service. This could include working up to 7pm on Thursday evenings on a roster with other officers

To personally take responsibility for the customer reception area, ensuring that it is clean and tidy and well stocked with quality in date leaflets, circulars and information posters

To update the Parking Database at regular intervals ensuring that requests for parking permits are dealt with expeditiously

Use computer systems to generate letters and documents and update the LEMB customer database as necessary

Helping to raise requisitions for repairs for tenants with contractors and other repair operatives

Take personal responsibility for office admin tasks including the opening, logging and distribution of post, photocopying, and processing orders for goods and services

To promote Loughborough EMB's code of conduct, values, priorities, and customer service standards

This is not an exhaustive list of the duties and a flexible approach and attitude is expected of the post holder.

Desired skills:

Previous experience of working in a customer service environment would be an advantage

Good communication skills

GCSE's A-D/9-4 pass in maths & English or equivalent qualifications

Business Administrator Apprentice Level 3


Wage: £308.00 - £329.00

Working week: Monday - Friday; 9.00 am - 5.30 pm with unpaid breaks (1 day attending college)

We are looking for someone to join our garden care services small and busy office.

Duties will include:

Various admin functions, including answering the phone

Entering invoices

Maintaining and records on Excel Compiling and preparing quotations
Electronic filing, and lots of other tasks as required

Desired Skills: 

Strong customer service skills

Strong numeracy and literacy skills

Enjoys working as part of a team

Good verbal and written communication skills

Able to display the shared values of the organisation

Must be PC literate in the following packages: MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word

Training will be given on in-house designed systems

Desired qualification:

GCSEs (or equivalent) grades A*-C/9-4 in English and maths



Salary: Your salary will depend on age, skills and experience and will be at least the National Minimum Wage for your age group.

Your duties will typically include:

  • Shrub bed maintenance

  • Planting bedding, shrubs and trees

  • Grass cutting

  • Bedding maintenance

  • General gardening

  • Litter picking

  • Spraying of chemicals – subject to qualification

  • Driving – subject to qualification and authorisation

  • Ad-hoc soft landscaping

  • Ad-hoc involvement in the events / ceremonies within The Royal Parks

  • Working as part of a highly skilled team to maintain The Royal Parks landscape




You will be given training in the theory and practice of developing and maintaining high quality public gardens, sports grounds and green communal areas. We will train you in theoretical and practical horticulture, together with cultivation, design and landscape management. You’ll also learn about pest control and soil science, and be trained to operate a range of machinery. Classroom learning at Capel Manor College (The Regent's Park campus) will be combined with practical experience that will utilise the unique and unrivalled environments across the Royal Parks.

Applicants who pass the initial screening will be invited for assessment and interviews at Capel Manor College.  If you are successful at this stage, you will be invited to a selection day at a Royal Park. The selection day will include a behind-the-scenes tour, plus interviews with Royal Parks and Landscape Maintenance Contractor management.

Successful candidates from the selection days will then be invited for a final interview with the relevant Landscape Maintenance Contractor who will be your employer.

If you are successful, your start date will be agreed with your employer and can be from July/August onwards.


Your course at Capel Manor College will start in September 2020.

Multi-Skilled Activity leader Apprenticeships (Various Locations)

Pay: £5.55 per hour

Learners undertaking this apprenticeship will have the ability to design individually
tailored exercise programmes and provide safe and effective exercise instruction
on all types of fitness equipment; the expertise to coach group activity sessions
to a variety of participants including children and young people; and the skills to
confidently work on a reception area and assertively deal with customer questions
and new membership enquiries.

All learners will need to achieve the following:
• Functional Skills in English L1/L2
• Functional Skills in Maths L1/L2

Qualifications achieved upon completion include:
• NPLQ Pool Lifeguard Certificate
• Fitness Instructor Level 2 Certificate
• Activity Leading Certificate
• Adolescences Certificate
• Leisure Operations Level 2 Certificate
